BAFTA, British Council and Shooting People are back with our popular annual all-day event on marketing and distributing your short film.
So you’ve made a short film…what now? Join many of the major players in short film distribution to talk about each stage of the process of getting your film to international audiences and potential collaborators. Sessions will cover maximising your film’s festival run; working with a sales agent; using the web to build an awareness of your work; putting your film online, and working with brands to fund work and reach new audiences. We’ll also look ahead to the future of short film distribution to ask what new platforms, channels and players are emerging and whether there is revenue to be found.
Speakers in London include Janet Pierson, Producer of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Conference and Festival; Briony Hanson, British Council, Director of Film; BAFTA winning producer Gerardine O’Flynn and BAFTA nominated Gavin Humphries; plus reps from a range of key short film contacts including world-renowned site Short Film of the Week, short film festivals, London Short Film Festival and sales agents Shorts International and Network Ireland.
For our half day event in Glasgow, we'll be joined by Matt Lloyd, Director of Glasgow Short Film Festival; Karen O’Hare, Director of Southside Film Festival; Will Massa, Film Advisor at British Council; Kate Taylor, Exhibition and Distribution Officer at the ICO and BAFTA winning filmmaker, Martin Smith. More speakers to be announced.
See schedules for details of sessions (will be updated with speakers by the end of May).
We’ll cap off the day with a well-deserved networking drink where you can exchange ideas with fellow filmmakers and many of our speakers.
