Creative England opened for business on 1 October 2011, with the core purpose of supporting the sustainable growth of independent creative businesses, and the talent that feeds them, in every part of England outside London. They are the first agency to provide dedicated support to Film, Television, Games and Digital & Creative Services in the English regions outside London.
REGIONAL SCREEN AGENCIES
Film London is the capital’s public agency for feature film, television, commercials and other interactive content. Film London works to ensure London has a thriving film sector that enriches the capital’s businesses and its people. It is funded by the Mayor of London, the National Lottery through the BFI, and receives significant support from Arts Council England and Creative Skillset. Film London subsumed the roles of two previously existing organizations: the London Film Commission (LFC) and the London Film Video and Development Agency (LFVDA).
Northern Film and Media
Northern Film & Media is a screen-based media and creative development agency committed to driving film, TV and digital arts projects. It is responsible for training, exhibition, education and all other areas of cultural activity related to film in the North East, with the aim of bringing investment into the UK and North East region whilst creating a screen culture economy where creativity can thrive. Northern Film & Media work with BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, BFI, Creative England, Film4, the BBC, Arts Council England and Channel 4 to deliver projects, events and talent development initiatives.
North West Vision
Northwest Vision and Media work on behalf of the TV, film, radio, games and digital content industries to grow a world-class media economy in England's Northwest region. The region encompasses the Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire areas.
Screen South is a Creative Development agency delivering and supporting innovative projects across screen-based media and the wider cultural and creative industries. They provide resources and advice to help people get their ideas off the ground and support delivery locally, nationally and internationally. From an initial office base in Folkestone, Screen South operates flexibly across the region with network partners in Kent, Oxfordshire, East and West Sussex and Hampshire.
For over ten years, Screen Yorkshire has been at the forefront of championing the film, TV, games and digital industries in Yorkshire and the Humber. It aims to secure and support the very best projects, companies and individuals, helping to make Yorkshire and the Humber one of the most sought after destinations for production in the UK. Screen Yorkshire is a specialist business which invests first and foremost in content, but also in developing talent.
